Anxiety

Anxiety

Anxiety is something that exists in everyone’s life. An anxiety response is appropriate to external circumstances whether joyful or painful. When anxiety reaches the stage where it overwhelms you mentally and physically, and affects your normal routine of life psychotherapy is essential to an individual’s well being.

Anxiety manifests from social phobia, a specific phobia, trauma, general anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, or from being overwhelmed by external circumstances. When we confront what we fear repeatedly without getting the negative outcome anxiety diminishes and our cognitions return. This does not only help in changing the mental frame of a person in a natural manner, but also helps in building back the lost confidence and sensitivity towards self.

Through the process of psychotherapy a commitment to bring about positive change in one’s life can lead to healthy levels of anxiety that help us navigate obstacles and achieve affirming outcomes.
