As a Louisville, KY therapist my goal is to focus on making genuine connections with the clients I serve. I believe in therapy we attempt to nurture awareness and acceptance by creating a setting that enables genuine dialogue to occur. I’ve witnessed this occurrence countless times with individuals, between family members, with couples, and in groups resulting in improved relations and true change. I believe Steere Family Therapy’s specialty is working with families and that the family unit is the most precious. When the family works together creatively to nurture one another, it is the most gratifying.
During my career the majority of my clinical time as a Louisville, KY therapist has been spent working individually with children. I have primarily worked with males ranging from the age of four to 21 years of age. Individual therapy is a vital part of treatment for children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional issues. I believe the need for young people to establish a trusting relationship beyond their parents is essential for healthy growth. Quite often when trust is compromised within the parent/child relationship individual and family therapy are a must. I believe it is unrealistic to expect anyone to change without the support and change of those closest to them. For this reason while working with these individuals I have also worked concurrently with their siblings and parents.
