Hello, I’m Tevis Steere and welcome to my website that tells you more about my practice – Steere Family Therapy. I’m ready to help you and so glad you found my website! Please feel free to look around and contact me if you have any questions or comments about my therapeutic services. This is a secure and confidential website.
Steere Family Therapy offers a way to assist you to fully participate in the moving experience of changing as an individual, a couple, or a family. Steere Family Therapy emphasizes and celebrates the uniqueness of each individual, couple, and family. Through this “uniqueness” new experiences, perceptions and ways to communicate are creatively identified and consequently constructed. This change enables individuals to move beyond old negative ways of doing things and allows limitless freedom to express one’s self openly and genuinely.
At Steere Family Therapy, I focus on:
- Working with families creatively to achieve and maintain awareness, acceptance, and change.
- Establishing safety and security through trusting one’s self and the ones we love.
- Strengthening trust of self and others.
- Increasing self-esteem and reduce anxiety by exploring feelings, thoughts and the choices we make.
- Identifying the games that people play that result in negative feelings towards one another.
- Learning to stop these games and speak genuinely to one another.
Additionally, since 1999, I have provided in-home therapy through a Medicaid funded program to countless children and their families. These children are at risk due to the nature of their behaviors and the issues their families face on a daily basis. Over this period I’ve encountered a vast degree of experience dealing with the extreme behaviors presented by children and adolescents. My experience extends to dealing with the challenges parents and families face under these circumstances. Through the experiences with these families I have developed an array of knowledge and skills to address the most challenging issues an individual or family can face in life.
